I use it to help my students (who are all studying French as a second language) understand the structure of the French language. It's far from having all the rules under the sun, moon and stars but the basics you've got to have to be able to master the language are laid out very clearly and in logical sequence (though you can just go to any point you need clarification without studying what precedes.) It's fun because it uses famous or humorous stories throughout to illustrate the points. Since this is a book for French students between the CE 1 and the CM 2, it is in French of course. So for foreign students to use it, their level needs to be end of Intermediate or advanced. The cover is soft and I don't know how it will fare with usage (the main reason I'm giving it 4 stars). The lay out is very attractive and clear. It has four main sections: Grammar, orthography, vocabulary and conjugation. Any French kid should have it as a bible to master the French language.
