Doctor Stephen Forshaw belonged to one of London’s oldest and wealthiest families. We learn that one day Doctor Forshaw simply vanished into thin air. Only to be followed one year later by his sons, Robert, Angus and Toby. No motive or clue to their disappearances was ever discovered by the Police and their bodies were never found. Despite this, the authorities secretly believed that all four were dead and were certain that it was only a matter of time before their bodies were discovered............. Almost ten years to the day Stephen was discovered missing, a boy matching Toby’s description reappears at a disused farm in Hertfordshire. The boy has no memory of where he has been and doesn’t even know his name. The Boy cannot understand why he hasn’t aged one day in nearly a decade. He is only aware that his life is in grave danger.......
The Shifting Mackenzie Brown Books
This is an incredible work of fiction. The style read like a mosaic of a Victorian Penny Dreadfuls, occult manifestations, and historical drama. Tons of action situations, duplicity and tension on every page. The work continually shifted my speculative thoughts about what was possible and mystical possibilities, searching for plausible solutions. Oh joy, the author wrapped up each with unexpected results, that took my second guessing and turned it inside out and upside down.
The adroit author managed to keep his large menagerie of distinctive characters clear of mass confusion for this reader.
Wonderful fantasy written in a compelling style reminiscent of 19th. century literary craftsmen. The ending left me cliff-hanging in such a way that now I must read theother books in the triology.

The Shifting Mackenzie Brown Books Reviews
One of those stories that keeps you wanting to read more as you just dont know whats going to happen.
Loved this book. I read it in about two days. Kept me on my toes with all the twists and turns. You must pay attention to some of the "shifting" plot in this book. Past, present and futures are inter-twined. Excellent read.
Mr. Brown has spun quite a tale. A winning change from the usual magic and undead! Heroes both big and small. A must read.
This book has the potential to be good but unfortunately it reads like someone has sat down and just typed out whatever was in their head.
The grammar and punctuation are really bad, for example every word that should have a ' such as we'll has instead we"ll -but with the inverted comas facing the wrong way- so that it looks like the end of speech- which is really confusing.
There is no consideration as to whose perspective a scene is written from and the book often jumps persepctive several times in a short chapter.
There has been no research as to what is possible or not and at one stage the character finds out that his aunt is the identical twin of his father- which seems somewhat incredible!
I did try to like this book- but I feel the author should take it off of kindle and get it properly proof read and edited before re-submitting it.
I rarely don't finish a book- but this is an exception!
Mackenzie Brown is a story teller and The Shifting is a page turner, like one review mentioned you do have to pay attention, but the anticipation is a good thing.
See the twitter post for this author this book is wonderfully written can not wait for part two. Reading Prince of the City now
This novel was just not interesting from the very beginning. The author keeps the reader in the dark too long. Finally I just got tired of reading and not feeling like I was getting somewhere. On top of that are all the grammatical errors. I didn't feel that I should have to interpret as I read.
